Under-Eye Light Filler (Tear Trough)

“Didn’t you get enough sleep?”, “Are you too tired?”, “Are you sick?”… If you frequently hear these questions from those around you, the shadows and hollows under your eyes are likely making you look older and less energetic than you actually are.

The skin around the eyes is the thinnest and most sensitive area of our face. Due to genetic structure, lack of sleep, intensive screen use, and aging, the grooves extending from the tear duct toward the cheek (Tear Trough) deepen. These hollows cannot reflect light and create shadows, appearing as “dark circles.”

Farewell to Tired Looks, Radiance to Your Eyes with Under-Eye Light Filler

Dr. Andan Clinic brightens your gaze with Under-Eye Light Filler, one of the most sophisticated procedures in medical aesthetics. Light filler is not just a filling process; it is a “mesotherapy” cocktail that nourishes the eye area with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

What is Light Filler and What Does It Contain?

Under-eye light filler (such as Redensity II) is produced with a different technology than classic facial fillers. Because the skin under the eyes is very thin, the filler used here must be very fluid and must not swell by retaining excessive water. The contents of this special filler include:

  • Semi-Cross-Linked Hyaluronic Acid: Ideal consistency for filling hollows.

  • Essential Nutrients: 8 amino acids, 3 antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins.

  • Lidocaine: An anesthetic agent for comfort.

Thanks to this rich content, the hollows are filled immediately, and the shadowing effect is eliminated. Over time (within 3-4 weeks), the skin quality improves, the color lightens, and the famous “brightening” effect emerges.

Who is it Suitable For? Bagging vs. Hollowing

Under-eye light filler is not suitable for every under-eye problem. Correct patient selection is critical.

  • Ideal Candidates: Those with hollowing (pitting) under the eyes, those with a prominent line descending from the tear duct, and those experiencing shaded dark circles because of this.

  • Non-Suitable Candidates: Those with prominent and large fat bags under the eyes. If a filler is applied to someone with bags, the bags become even more prominent and look swollen. In this case, the solution is surgery (Eyelid Aesthetics). Additionally, for those with extremely dark pigmentation (genetic darkness), filler alone will not lighten the color; it must be supported by laser or mesotherapy.

Safe and Bruise-Free Application with the Cannula Technique

The area around the eyes is a high-risk zone with a dense vascular network. At Dr. Andan Clinic, this procedure is strictly performed using a blunt-tipped Cannula, not a needle.

  • A tiny entry is made from a single point on the cheek.

  • The filler is placed on the bone (deep plane) by advancing under the skin with the cannula.

  • Since the cannula does not cut the vessels, the risk of bleeding and bruising is almost zero.

  • The patient can return to social life immediately after the procedure.

The sparkle in your eyes is the source of your energy. Trust the expertise of Dr. Andan Clinic to have a natural, rested, and bright eye area without being dependent on concealers. A gaze that looks five years younger in a single session can be yours.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Does under-eye light filler reduce dark circles?

If the cause of your bruising is “shadowing due to indentation,” then yes, it can be reduced by 80-90% with filler. However, if the cause of your bruising is pigmentation (brown spots) or dilated blood vessels in the skin, filler will only alleviate it; mesotherapy or laser treatment may be required for a complete solution.

The under-eye area is prone to swelling. The morning after the procedure, there may be slight swelling (as if you just woke up). This will go away on its own within 2-3 days. Drinking plenty of water and avoiding salty foods will reduce the swelling.

The under-eye area is a static area, and light filler has a slow-dissolving structure. It lasts an average of 12-18 months. This duration increases with repeated applications.

If the filler is placed too close to the surface of the skin (close to the epidermis), a bluish reflection may be visible from the outside. This is called the Tyndall effect. The specialists at Dr. Andan Clinic eliminate this risk by placing the filler on the bone (deep layer).

The procedure takes approximately 15-20 minutes. Since a small amount of local anesthesia is applied at the entry point, no pain is felt during the procedure, only a slight pressure may be felt.
