The female body exists in aesthetic integrity, and the most striking complement to this whole is the breasts. However, due to genetic factors, developmental delays, extreme weight loss, or post-partum loss of volume, breasts may not possess the fullness a person desires.
Having small breasts is not just a physical trait for many women; it is also a psychological pressure factor that restricts clothing choices, creates a lack of self-confidence at the beach, and hinders “feeling feminine.” Dr. Andan Clinic addresses this sense of deficiency with Breast Augmentation (Augmentation Mammoplasty) surgeries and offers women a proportionate body that they can look at with pride in the mirror.
Breast augmentation is one of the most frequently performed aesthetic operations worldwide. The reason for this popularity is that the results are visible immediately and the patient satisfaction (happiness rate) is at a record level of 98%.
A correctly planned breast augmentation surgery does more than just enlarge the breasts; it makes the waist appear thinner, provides balance with the hips, and grants the individual an “hourglass” appearance.
The most critical stage of breast augmentation surgery is the selection of the right prosthesis. The prostheses used at Dr. Andan Clinic are FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approved, 5th generation cohesive gel implants with a lifetime warranty against rupturing and leaking. While choosing the prosthesis, the patient’s body structure and expectations are evaluated with “High Five” analysis:
Round Prosthesis: It is in the shape of a hemisphere. It also fills the upper part (upper pole) of the breast. It is ideal for women who want a voluminous and ambitious cleavage, looking “as if wearing a push-up bra” even without one.
Teardrop (Anatomic) Prosthesis: It resembles the natural breast shape; thinner at the top and fuller at the bottom. It is perfect for those who say, “I don’t want it to be obvious that I had surgery, I want it to look completely natural,” and for thin patients with very little breast tissue.
Dr. Cengiz Andan measures your shoulder width, rib cage diameter, and existing breast tissue to determine the size (cc) and shape that will suit you best through simulations.
Where the prosthesis is placed in breast augmentation surgery affects the naturalness of the result.
Under the Muscle (Dual Plane): This is the most modern technique where part of the prosthesis is placed under the chest muscle and part under the breast tissue. Especially in thin patients, it prevents the edges of the prosthesis from being felt and provides the most natural result.
Over the Muscle (Subfascial): Preferred for patients with sufficient breast tissue. The recovery process is slightly faster.
As for the incision site, the Inframammary Fold (under the breast) is generally preferred. This is because the scar in this area remains within the bra line and is completely hidden when the breast naturally hangs down. Other options (around the nipple or armpit) are used in rarer cases.
Breast augmentation surgery is performed under general anesthesia and takes an average of 1 hour. Our patients are discharged on the same day or the next morning.
First 3 Days: In prostheses placed under the muscle, there may be a feeling of pressure and restricted movement (difficulty in lifting arms) due to the stretching of the muscle. This situation is managed with painkillers.
1st Week: The patient can return to work and social life.
Corset Use: A sports bra must be worn for 4 weeks for the shape to settle and for the edema to subside.
Breast augmentation surgery is one of the most beautiful gifts a woman can give herself. You can trust the expertise and aesthetic vision of Dr. Andan Clinic to freely wear the clothes you desire, correct your posture, and crown your femininity. The most suitable prosthesis for you is not the largest one, but the one most compatible with your body.
Great care is taken to avoid damaging nerves during breast augmentation surgery. Temporary numbness or excessive sensitivity may occur in the nipple during the first few weeks. However, as the swelling subsides and the tissues heal, sensation returns to normal in 95% of cases.
No. Thousands of scientific studies have proven that silicone implants do not trigger breast cancer. Furthermore, having silicone implants does not prevent breast cancer screening (mammography or ultrasound); it is sufficient to inform the radiologist.
In the past, replacement was recommended every 10 years. However, new technology prostheses are considered ‘lifelong’. Unless a rare complication such as capsular contracture (the body squeezing the prosthesis) develops, you can safely use your prostheses for life.
You can start walking 3-4 days later. However, it is recommended to wait 6-8 weeks for the capsule to form and the prosthesis to settle before starting sports that work the chest muscles (fitness, push-ups, Pilates, tennis).
Yes. The prosthesis is placed behind the mammary glands and milk ducts (under the muscle or under the fascia). As the milk-producing tissue is not touched, you can become pregnant after the operation and safely breastfeed your baby.
