The most striking and feminine focal point of facial aesthetics is undoubtedly the lips. Throughout history, full, symmetrical, and hydrated lips have been symbols of youth, health, and attractiveness. However, not everyone is born with the ideal lip structure.
Genetically thin lips, asymmetrical lines, or lip tissue that loses volume and curls inward due to the aging process can make a facial expression look pale and aged. Fortunately, with Lip Filler applications offered by the modern world of medical aesthetics, it is possible to achieve the lips of your dreams in just 15–20 minutes without going under the knife.
At Dr. Andan Clinic, we do not view lip filler applications merely as a “volume enhancement” procedure; we treat it as an “artistic touch” and a process of completing facial harmony.
Our fundamental principle is not to “make the same lips for everyone,” but to design the most suitable, natural, and understated form that fits the person’s facial features, nose, and jaw structure. The “artificial, swollen, or duck face” images often seen and feared on social media are the result of incorrect techniques and overdosing. Lip filler performed by the right hands yields a result that “doesn’t look like work was done” but makes people say, “How beautiful you’ve become.”
The primary substance used in lip fillers is Hyaluronic Acid, which is already naturally present in our bodies (in our skin and joints). This substance is a sugar derivative with the capacity to hold water up to 1,000 times its own weight.
The FDA-approved, premium-segment lip fillers used at Dr. Andan Clinic do more than just add volume; they also provide intense hydration, making the lips look more vibrant, smooth, and radiant. The greatest advantage of hyaluronic acid-based fillers is that they are not permanent and are fully compatible with the body. Over time, they are naturally metabolized (dissolved) by the body. Furthermore, in case of dissatisfaction or asymmetry, the procedure is completely reversible with an enzyme called “Hyaluronidase,” providing patients with a great sense of safety and comfort.
Lip filler is suitable for anyone over the age of 18 who has the following aesthetic concerns:
Lack of Volume: Those with genetically very thin lips.
Asymmetry: Those with disproportion between the upper and lower lips or cases where the right/left sides are unequal.
Aging Effects: Dissolving of lip tissue, inward curling of the lip, and drooping of the corners of the mouth due to age.
Barcode Lines: Fine “smoker’s lines” appearing on the lip.
Indistinct Contour: Faint lip borders that make applying lipstick difficult.
Lack of Cupid’s Bow: Absence of the attractive “M” curve in the center of the upper lip.
Trends in the world of lip fillers are constantly changing. Dr. Andan Clinic closely follows current global techniques to offer patients the most popular and aesthetic results.
Russian Lips: This is the most popular technique of recent years. The goal is not to project the lip forward (duck look) but to flip it upward (lifting effect) to create a flat and wide surface area. The lip takes on a “heart” shape, the Cupid’s bow is emphasized, and the lip does not protrude when viewed from a side profile.
Classic/Natural Technique: Applied for patients who wish to maintain the natural anatomy of the lip while adding slight volume and moisture. It is a “barely there” touch that revitalizes the lip.
Contour Technique: Applied for those who want to clarify the lip borders rather than add overall fullness.
The technique suitable for you is determined following a facial analysis by Dr. Andan Clinic physicians and in line with your expectations.
“Does lip filler hurt a lot?” is the concern we hear most frequently. The lip area is rich in nerve endings and sensitive. However, at Dr. Andan Clinic, maximum precautions are taken for your comfort:
A very strong local anesthetic cream is applied 15–20 minutes before the procedure.
The new-generation fillers we use also contain a local anesthetic (Lidocaine).
Thanks to this, you feel only a slight pressure rather than pain during the procedure. The process takes about 10–15 minutes, and you can see the result in the mirror immediately. It is perfectly normal to have edema (swelling) for the first 2–3 days. This should not alarm you; it takes approximately 10–14 days for the filler to settle and for the lips to take their most beautiful, natural shape.
Your lips are the signature of your face. It is in your hands to achieve a more attractive, younger, and more dynamic expression with a small touch. Dr. Andan Clinic is with you to design the lip form that suits you best with high-quality products, a hygienic clinical environment, and expert manual skill.
No. The “duck lip” appearance is caused by injecting filler into the wrong layer (so that it spreads into the mustache area) or by using too much filler. With the modern techniques used at Dr. Andan Clinic (such as Russian Lips), the lips are shaped upward rather than forward, so they look natural from the side profile.
Since the lips are the most mobile area of the face (speaking, eating, drinking), fillers dissolve slightly faster than in other areas. Depending on the individual’s metabolism and the thickness of the filler used, the duration of results typically ranges from 6 to 12 months. Regular touch-ups extend the duration of results.
The hardness felt in the early days is usually caused by swelling and can be relieved with massage. Permanent lumpiness is seen with the use of poor-quality fillers or incorrect techniques. With the homogeneous, FDA-approved fillers used in our clinic, the risk of lumpiness is minimal.
Yes. If you are not satisfied with the result or if asymmetry occurs, the filler can be completely dissolved within 24 hours by injecting an enzyme called “hyaluronidase.” This is the safest aspect of hyaluronic acid fillers.
You may eat immediately after the procedure, but you should avoid very hot drinks and refrain from biting your lips until the effects of the anesthesia wear off (approximately 1-2 hours). To reduce the risk of infection, it is recommended to avoid applying lipstick for the first 24 hours and to refrain from activities that may strain the lips (such as forceful kissing).
